The Challenge
As part of its scope to supply subsea power cables for installation at a floating offshore wind farm, JDR needed to establish the operational performance of its cables and associated equipment in a dynamic environment.
Our Solution
Development of test procedures and associated equipment and delivery of a comprehensive series of mechanical tests including breakaway frame, crush with tension, impact/clash, bend, crush friction and stocking pull test. The testing was performed at RED’s test facility in Hexham within a three-month time frame.
